Getting There

Holiday France Direct - Save on Brittany Ferries when you book this property

By Ferry

The cheapest and the most convenient way to reach The Moulin is of course by ferry. One of the reasons we chose to buy a house in the Vendee area, apart from the amazing weather, was the easy access from UK ports without the long hard slog down to the far south of France! The Dover-Calais routes remain the most popular for our guests due to the short crossing times, wide choice of sailings and very low prices.

Many people otherwise take advantage of the discounts we have with Brittany Ferries that save our guests around 20% off the cost of the ferry when booking The Moulin. Ask us for the discount club number before booking your ferry!

The Brittany Ferry crossings are longer and are more expensive than via Calais but we prefer to relax on board and then have a much shorter drive time (just 2 ½ hours from St Malo) to The Moulin. The Moulin De Guinche is within easy reach of the French ports of Calais, Caen, St Malo, Cherbourg, and Boulogne, etc. Our favourite cross channel routes are to St Malo (overnight), or day crossings via Caen or Cherbourg.
